Is there a need for dogs? YES! Dogs are man's best friend. They are there for you no matter what you look like, or how you feel or if you deserve being loved. What a joy a furry little friend can be.

We have been blessed with 3 wonderful dogs in our lives. Buffy lived for 17 years and grew up with our girls. Gizmo was such a character and lived for 12 years. These dogs gave us so much love and enjoyment. We still talk about them with a smile on our face and sometimes a laugh out loud.

Shadow is a gift from God to Don and I. She was found on I-70 with a broken leg. We figured she must have flown out of a car window and that's how she broke her leg. I'm sure the owners tried to find her but by the time they found a way to turn around, she was found by another person. A woman that worked with Tami at Mesa Manor is the one that picked her up. She was afraid that this little dog was going to get run over. She brought her to Grand Junction and had a Vet fix her leg. She had her for a month and then wanted to find a home for her because she worked all day and this little dog needed someone at home during the day. That is when Tami found out about this dog and thought maybe her Mom and Dad would take her.

The day that she brought Shadow over, we fell in love with her. This little dog is such a perfect one for us. She was completely trained, loves to ride in the car, sits on your lap as soon as you sit down, is a great walker and loves us dearly. We named her Shadow because she is so black and follows you around. Sometimes I wonder where Shadow is and I look down and there's my little Shadow right next to me. She's so quiet, I hardly ever know that she is there.
