I DON'T FEEL OLDER EVEN IF IT IS MY 67TH BIRTHDAY TODAY.

I DID WEAR A NEW SWIMMING SUIT TO MY EXERCISE CLASS AT THE POOL SO THAT I WOULD FEEL SPECIAL. CLARISSA WAS THERE AND TOLD THE CLASS IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY SO THEY ALL SANG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME. IT WAS A GOOD WAY TO BEGIN MY DAY.

TAMI AND JEFF CAME OVER AT 5:00 P.M. TO HELP CELEBRATE. THIS IS THEIR NEW 2009 LINCOLN MKZ FORD. IT'S BEAUTIFUL!

 

TERESA STOPPED IN FOR A FEW MINUTES TO WISH ME A HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

 

IT WAS TIME TO OPEN UP THE CARDS. WOW! I RECEIVED LOTS OF MONEY. WHAT A SHOPPING SPREE I WILL HAVE.

I DECIDED ON DOS HOMBRES FOR MY BIRTHDAY MEAL

IT WAS A GREAT MEAL WITH WONDERFUL COMPANY. WE ALL HAD A GOOD TIME. SO GLAD TAMI AND JEFF LIVE CLOSE SO THAT WE CAN CELEBRATE THESE SPECIAL OCCASIONS WITH THEM.

 
WE ENDED THE EVENING WITH A COLD STONE TREAT. WOW, WHAT A BIRTHDAY. LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT.

 

Why do I have lights on my tree?

THESE LIGHTS REPRESENT THE TREE AND THE DELICIOUS FRUIT WE WANT TO PARTAKE OF. THIS IS FOUND IN THE BOOK OF MORMON WHEN LEHI AND NEPHI HAD THEIR VISIONS.

WHEN I TURN ON THESE LIGHTS EVERY DAY, I THINK OF GOD'S LOVE AND ETERNAL LIFE HE PROMISES US IF WE LIVE UP TO OUR SACRED COVENANT'S AND STAY ON THE STRAIGHT AND NARROW PATH.

I TAUGHT MY LESSON TODAY AND FELT GOOD ABOUT IT. OBVIOUSLY, IT WAS ON COVENANTS AND HOW IMPORTANT THEY ARE IN OUR LIVES. COVENANTS ARE LIKE STEPS ON JACOB'S LADDER. IN HIS DREAM, JACOB REALIZED HE HAD TO TAKE HIS COVENANTS ONE STEP AT A TIME IN ORDER TO GET BACK TO HEAVENLY FATHER.

I ALSO SHARED OUR LIGHT AND DARK GLASSES WE USED IN OUR FAMILY HOME EVENINGS WHEN OUR GIRLS WERE GROWING UP. WE WOULD ROLL PLAY HOW HEAVENLY FATHER WOULD WANT US TO BEHAVE AND THEN HOW SATAN WOULD WANT US TO BEHAVE.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE STORIES IN THE BOOK OF MORMON IS THAT OF THE ANTI-NEPHI-LEHI'S THAT KEPT THEIR COVENANTS OF NEVER SHEDDING BLOOD AGAIN. THEY BURIED THEIR WEAPONS TO LET THE LORD KNOW THEY MEANT IT.

SHOP UNTIL WE DROP!

Clarissa and I wanted to take a quick trip to Utah to do some shopping. We left on on Frid. morning and got to Provo about 1:30 p.m. We stayed at the Colony Inn. This is where our family always stayed when our daughters were going to B.Y.U. It was a perfect place because most of our stores we liked were near by.

We had a great time spending some money. My goal was to get some scrapbook journals for the next few years. Clarissa had some things she wanted to buy too.

The clouds were gathering that evening and I thought this picture of the rainbow was so pretty. I also got the Y on the mountain.

GOT IN TOUCH WITH OUR COUSIN RUTH

We hadn't seen Ruth for such a long time so we decided to take her out to dinner. It was fun to catch up on news and eat a great meal at P.F. Chang's. Ruth has had some serious health problems and is doing much better. It was nice seeing her again.

TWO NEW TEMPLES IN THE SALT LAKE VALLEY

The next morning we headed for the Salt Lake Valley.

We had a great time going around the South end of Salt Lake. I had never seen the new Temples that had been built and dedicated so Clarissa drove around until we found them.

The first one is the Oquirrh Temple

The other one is the Draper Temple.

We drove back to Provo, I bought more journal scrapbooks at the University Mall. After eating lunch we headed for home.

What a wonderful quick trip Clarissa and I had. We need to do more of these kind of things together.

TERESA'S NEW HOME IS LOOKING GREAT!

This is her new couch and chair she bought. I let her use my green tree for some folliage. The couch has 2 Lazyboys on each end and it's so comfortable.

Sometimes, I dog sit Muffin. I thought this picture of Shadow and Muffin was so cute. They are checking out the neighborhood together.

MY TRIP TO THE EAST COAST IN APRIL...2009

I wanted to share my trip last Spring. I'm including some pictures. I was able to spend 3 weeks visiting all my family members, spending a week at each home.

I hate having my family so far away but it's sure fun to visit them.

I flew into Washington DC airport and Tasha picked me up. I spent the first night with Tasha and JJ. They took me to the Cheese Cake Factory for dinner. I took this cute family picture at the restaurant.

It takes a little while to win Coldon over, but I think GRANDMA'S COOKIES did the trick.

DADRA MET US IN FREDERICK THE NEXT DAY AND I WENT HOME WITH HER TO HAGERSTOWN FOR THE WEEK.

It was fun seeing their home. It was just around the corner from where they used to live. They now have a fenced in back yard for the children and Maya (their dog).
Abby and I made cookies a couple of times. Our favorite part is tasting the cookie dough.

Abby is such a little princess. She's so adorable and fun to watch......always busy. Abby loves to sing, dance and perform. I get such a kick out of her.
Landon is adorable too. He's able to get around every where and make lots of messes. Such a cutie.
