SOME FRIENDS ARE FOREVER!

It has been 20 years since Connie and I have seen each other. She emailed me last week and said that she has been
keeping up on my blog and was going to be in Grand Junction this past week end. She had hoped to see me when she
was in town. I wrote back and said that I would love to have her come over.

On Sunday we planned to get together at 6:00 p.m. Don had gone Home Teaching so it was a perfect time for catching
up on our families news. Don and I had so much fun when Connie and Steve lived here. We often did things together with the Francom's. Connie and
I got out some of my 1979 and 1980 scrapbooks and had fun remeniscing some great times together. We couldn't believe
that Dadra was born during these years and she didn't even have Lee or Jamie in their lives yet. Now all our children are married
and she loves grandmotherhood as much as I do.

Some friends are eternal and Connie is that to me. It was such fun to visit and see her again!

DO BLONDS HAVE MORE FUN?

Our daughter Tasha liked the dark wig I bought but she said that I should buy another one that
is really different than what I looked like normally. This could be worn when I had an ATTITUDE!
The more I thought about this idea the more I liked it. So Don and I went to the wig shop and I
tried on some really different wigs. He got such a kick out of it and he thought I should get one.

Tami and I went on our Thursday night outing last week and I tried some wigs on for her too. We
both really liked this one. Yes, I bought it! It's fun and I plan to wear it when I have an ATTITUDE!

I've never been a blond before and it is really different but if I do lose my hair with chemotherapy.....
I'M READY FOR IT!! Is that an attitude or what?

Posted by PicasaBy the way, I only have 5 more radiation treatments and chemo pills next week and then the
last treatment is on July 5th.......YIPPEE! My body has done really good so far and I'm so
grateful for this.

After finishing this round of treatments I have a month off. Our family cruise will be during
this time (July 15-23). When I get home I will have a port put in for my 4 months of chemo
in the veins. Keep you all posted.........

TERESA'S BIRTHDAY AND FATHER'S DAY WEEK-END

Teresa's birthday was June 19, so I decided to begin her day by taking her out to breakfast. We enjoyed our time together and it was
a good way to begin her 51st birthday.

That evening Tami and Jeff took Don and I out to dinner for Father's Day. Don picked Chilies for the restaurant. It was fun to be
with them and we enjoyed the evening.

Posted by PicasaOn Sunday we had Greg Frame take our picture since it was Father's Day
What a special day this was since Don was able to visit with all his daughter's.
Hearing from all of them makes our day on these special occasions. We truly
are blessed with a family that is so close. We never take this for granted!

Two more weeks to go with my radiation treatments and chemo pills. I
truly feel blessed that my body has handled these things so well. I'm
feeling good and able to function just fine. Thanks for all your thoughts
and prayers. I do feel love and strength from all of you!!

WARD TEMPLE TRIP!

Don and I had such a lovely Saturday going to the Monticello Temple with Third Ward members.
It was really special having the Jester's and Mantlo's officiate the session that we were all in. They are temple workers and
spend a couple of week-ends a months working in the Monticello Temple.

After our session in the Temple, we had a Ward lunch at the Stake Center next door
before driving home. I was really happy that I felt good enough to do this activity with
so many friends.
I have two weeks down of taking chemo pills and radiation treatments......so far so good. I have 3 weeks to go!!

SPOTLIGHT IN RELIEF SOCIETY FOR JUNE

I wanted to emphasize different ways we SHARE when we do our Visiting Teaching. So I asked the sisters to think of 3 ways we share that starts with a T.

Third Ward Sisters are very bright and came up with the following answers.......
TIME, TALENTS and TESTIMONY.

We had a good discussion about each one. That was the spotlight for this month.

ONE DOWN....24 TO GO!

I'm actually glad to have begun my radiation treatments today.
The sooner we zap those cancer cells, that might be lurking
around , the better.

I was in and out in 15 minutes. I feel good and it will now be in my routine of life every day at 3:30 p.m.
They have 3 areas that they radiate in my abdomen area. That is where the tumor was.

I'll keep you posted!

I'M READY!

Since I'm not sure whether I will lose my hair or not with the radiation and chemo treatments, I decided to be prepared
by buying this wig. I found one that looked like my real hair. It's the same color and style that I like.

Here it is! I'm now ready for anything!!

I begin my first treatments today. I have 25 radiation treatments along with chemo pills
and then I'll have a month break before 4 months of chemo in my veins.

I do feel all your thoughts and prayers for me. Thank you!
